Rockwell Automation is transforming our TechConnect℠ Remote Support offering with new innovative capabilities, using augmented reality technology from PTC. Augmented Reality (AR) Assist allows field service engineers to show interactive views of a system to our remote support experts to solve issues quicker. In addition to enhancing service delivery, AR Assist enables customers themselves to use their personal mobile device to leverage the same AR technology with our support experts, as a core feature of their product support contract. Now both customers and service technicians can share their virtual view and receive guidance directly from an expert through live feed video and 3D spatial annotations. The result gives our customers a better, faster, and more modern experience and allows our engineers to support more customers in less time, potentially reducing hold times and increasing customer satisfaction.
